My book is in a brown truck, slowly winding it's way through town to my house. This is both a happy day, because I finally have another book in the series to read, and a desperately sad day because this book marks the end of this novel series. He has announced his new series, and hopefully I'll like it as much as this one.I'll update again once I have read it!WHY ARE MY UPDATES DISAPPEARING?This was a great book, I've read it.UPDATE: Well, at least one update made it through amazon's system.I liked this book a lot. Overall, it felt rushed in comparison to the long build up to getting here. I feel that way about most series though. I'm the kind of person who wished Tolkein hadn't been so terse in his writing! There were a lot of small stories to wrap up with various characters that's we've been following around the desert for years now.It is sad that his series is over, though not all hope is lost. There is a hanging plot point at the end, and one of the twelve kings might be alive! There could be more to come.I was excited early in the book, when a character called out the larboard side of a ship. But just after that the old word disappeared, and all the characters started to call it the new fangled British term: port.By the end of the series, I'm almost convinced that the desert was just purgatory, and people there were being punished for their sins before they could journey on to heaven.
